Joe Biden’s campaign is furious over a video that was shared by President Trump’s campaign. In the video, the former vice president’s voice can be heard claiming that the coronavirus is a hoax. The Trump campaign accuses Twitter of giving a pass to an ad that was published by Biden’s campaign in which the featured audio of the president was edited. The edited audio was supposed proof that President Trump called the coronavirus a hoax. The ad was not removed, although independent fact-checkers agree that the president did not call the virus a hoax.

The video with the former vice president’s voice calling the coronavirus a hoax is a challenge towards Twitter and the mainstream media to play fair. If the ad of the Trump campaign is taken down while the one published by Biden’s is given a free pass, it would just reveal the bias that social media has against the president and conservatives in general.

Biden’s campaign reacted swiftly to the ad. They said that the video is wildly irresponsible and demanded that the social media platform should take it down immediately. They said that the Trump campaign is trying to draw a false equivalency in a bizarre fashion and that it was an attempt to mislead voters.

Critics of President Trump are now accusing him of not taking the coronavirus seriously. They have even gone so far as to say that he said that he had downplayed the virus. The president was criticized by many for imposing travel restrictions on China when the communist regime was refusing to reveal the true extent of the pandemic within its borders. He was again criticized when he imposed travel restrictions on Europe when the epicenter of the pandemic shifted there. Now he’s being accused of not doing enough and not preparing enough for the pandemic.

The president is brushing aside the criticisms and is taking aggressive action to combat the disease that is hitting many American cities hard, particularly New York. The government is now invoking the Defense Production Act (DPA), a Korean War-era law to help ensure that there will be an adequate supply of medical essentials that can be used by the frontliners who are fighting against the disease.
