Stars and celebrities from Hollywood who endorsed Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign are saddened by her decision to end her presidential run. The Massachusetts senator was able to get an impressive list of celebrities endorsing her campaign. Unfortunately, that was not enough to propel her to the lead of the race for Democratic party nomination.

Actress Ashley Judd is one of the Hollywood celebrities who supported Warren’s bid. She even joined the senator on the campaign trail. Judd tweeted right after the news broke that Warren was quitting, “I am grieving.”

Actor/ director Ben Stiller also expressed his disappointment after the Warren announcement. He was also concerned about the apparent lack of diversity in the race for the Democratic nominations now that the two leading candidates are both old white men.

Actress Bette Midler took a swipe at American voters in general. Her tweet said, “And BTW , #ElizabethWarren was a tremendous candidate. I admired her conduct, her platform, and her determination to drive corruption out of government. She knew the numbers. Why do smart women freak Americans out so bad? Personality contests are the gateway to mediocrity.”

Comedian Patton Oswalt also took a dig at the two leading candidates now, tweeting, “At least I still have a dynamic field of cranky septuagenarian dudes to choose from.”

Another actress, Piper Perabo tweeted a heartbroken emoji and said that “@ewarren and her incredible team ran a campaign I was proud of and inspired by. We are lucky Warren spends her smarts on trying to create solutions for us all.”

Warren’s presidential bid had a strong start. When the race for the Democratic nomination began, she was seen as one of the frontrunners if not the leading candidate to grab the nomination. But as the campaign went on, her rivals were able to spot weak points in her policies.

One of the main contributors to how she lost her place as a leader in the race was her mishandling of the question on how she would pay for her Medicare for All bill. Another major blow was when the New York Times published a study it did, which showed that she was just as unelectable as Hillary Clinton and did not stand a chance against President Donald Trump.

Now, Warren is saying that her campaign failed because of sexism and most Hollywood friends might agree, but President Donald Trump has a different opinion. “I think lack of talent was her problem. She had a tremendous lack of talent,” the President told reporters. “People don’t like her. She’s a very mean person. And people don’t like her. People don’t want that,” he added.
