During her Thursday night appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” Hillary Clinton was asked to give her thoughts about Trump and Melania’s relationship. However, Clinton avoided the issue by saying that “I’m the last person to comment on anybody’s relationship.”

20 years ago, Hillary’s husband, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and the then-White House intern Monica Lewinsky had an affair. Eventually, the relationship went public leading Bill into an impeachment trial which he was subsequently acquitted by the Senate.

In her self-titled documentary, both Bill and Hillary Clinton discussed the aftermath of the affair. Bill claimed that it was one of the things he did to “manage his anxieties.” becoming emotional when he said “We all bring our baggage to life and sometimes we do things we shouldn’t do. It was awful what I did.”

Hillary also looked back into the moment when she learned about Bill and Monica. “I said, ‘If this is going to be public, you have got to go tell Chelsea,” Hillary instructed her husband and admitted that she was “devastated and so personally hurt,” by the scandal.

Bill responded, “So, I did that, which was awful. What I did was wrong. I just hated to hurt her.” Bill continued “Nobody thinks about that, nobody thinks I am taking a risk. That is not why people do stupid things. Nobody sits down and thinks I will take a really irresponsible risk, it is bad for my family, bad for my country, bad for the people who work with me. That is not what happens.”

The former president tried to use the pressure of being a commander-in-chief as a reason to go into an affair “Everybody’s life has pressures and disappointments, terrors, fears of whatever.” Bill continued, “Things I did to manage my anxieties for years. I’m a different, totally different person than I was, a lot of that stuff 20 years ago.”

He continued, “You feel like you’re staggering around, you’ve been in a 15-round prize fight that was extended to 30 rounds and here’s something that will take your mind off it for a while, that’s what happens.”

Bill also felt “terrible” for Lewinsky as he “watched her get a normal life.” He said “I feel terrible about the fact that Monica Lewinsky’s life was defined by it, unfairly I think. Over the years I’ve watched her trying to get a normal life back again but you’ve got to decide how to define normal.”

Clinton also looked back on her decision to stand by her husband, “Some people thought I made the right decision and some people thought I made the wrong decision and so I have gotten both affirmation and criticism for the decision I made and that was true from the very beginning of deciding that.”

In the wake of #MeTooMovement, Lewinsky became more public to talk about the gross abuse of power and how her life had been drastically changed by the affair. While Clinton did not respond to the question about Trump’s relationship in the late-night show, she slammed Melania on her “Be Best” project. When Andy Cohen asked her, “What do you honestly think of First Lady Melania Trump’s cyberbullying initiative?” Hillary replied, “I think she should look closer to home.”
