After her dramatic speech ripping incident at the end of President Trump’s State of the Union Address, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi warned the public that Trump is “the most dangerous person” in the country, and urged fellow Democratic supporters to defeat the president.

In a lengthy interview with Variety Magazine, Pelosi said: “We have the most dangerous person in the history of our country sitting in the White House.” Pelosi continued, “That’s different from what happened in 2016. People thought Hillary [Clinton] would win so they didn’t all turn out. Nobody could possibly think that somebody like Donald Trump could be elected president of the United States. But if you don’t turn out, those who do turn out will call the shots.” Pelosi also added that Trump is a liar, saying that she has a problem with the president because “he doesn’t tell the truth, he doesn’t honor the Constitution, and he’s harming children.” Pelosi added, “My whole message is about children. Anybody who hurts children—I’m a lioness. Watch out,” the 17-term lawmaker said.

The House Speaker also claimed that Trump should not win in the 2020 elections, “Hopefully as we winnow down the number of candidates, that big distinction between the two parties will be [evident] there. It has to be. Because our country cannot withstand another four years of Donald Trump. The courts, the press, the environment—everything is,” Pelosi said. She concluded her statement saying, “The greatness of America is such that we will withstand what [Trump] has done and move on from that. I feel confident about our ability to do that.”

Recently, Pelosi had also slammed Trump’s coronavirus effort claiming that the administration’s response was both “opaque and chaotic.” In a press conference, Pelosi stated that “The American people need a well-coordinated, whole-of-government, fully-funded response to keep them safe from the coronavirus threat.

Unfortunately, the Trump Administration has mounted an opaque and chaotic response to this outbreak.”

Then, she blamed the administration for spreading the outbreak saying that “The Trump Administration has left critical positions in charge of managing pandemics at the National Security Council and the Department of Homeland Security vacant. The Trump Budget called for slashing almost $700 million from the Centers for Disease Control. And even now, the Administration continues to devalue Americans’ health security by ransacking funding from other vital public health needs”

Pelosi also stated that she had called Vice President Mike Pence concerning the outbreak. Pelosi lamented, “I expressed to him the concern that I had of his being in this position—while I look forward to working with him—about his when he was governor of Indiana slashing the public health budget and having some clinics, especially a Planned Parenthood clinic, close which was the only place in that county where you could get tested for HIV and AIDS.”
