Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate who eventually lost to Donald Trump, has thrown shade at fellow Democrat, Bernie Sanders’s campaign. Appearing as a guest on ABC’s “Good Morning America” Hillary said that she thought Bernie’s campaign promises are “baloney.”

The host of the show Linsey Davis also asked her about a statement that Bernie made. “Just curious to get your response to hearing that Bernie Sanders said that if he makes it to the convention with the most pledged delegates that he should be the nominee. That’s quite a bit of change in his stance from 2016. Your reaction?”

Clinton’s reply was that Bernie should follow the rules. “We’ve got rules. We had rules last time, and we have rules this time. I think it is always a good idea to follow the rules. Everybody knew when they got into it,” Clinton said. This is somewhat ironic coming from Clinton whose camp, after she lost to Trump in 2016, argued that she should be the president since she won the popular vote. Even now, there are some Democrats who are calling for changing the electoral rules so they can do away with the Electoral College and let anyone who wins the popular vote to automatically become the winner of the election.

Hillary’s Bernie-bashing doesn’t stop there. In her Hulu documentary, “Hillary” which is set to premiere later this week, the losing 2016 presidential candidate has a few choice of words for the communist-loving Sanders. In the documentary, she accused Sanders of not working until he was in his 40s and then he was elected into office.

The Vermont senator who also tried to get the Democratic party nomination in 2016 but lost to Hillary, who in turn lost to Donald Trump in the election, is running on a platform that promises a lot to many Americans. He’s promising his supporters that if elected, he would support Medicare for All and that he believes in the cancellation of student debt. These are the talking points that appeal to many on the far left.

Sanders has the backing of the far left component of the Democratic Party. He is endorsed by the “Squad” a group of problematic representatives namely Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib. He has also refused to condemn the Castro regime of Cuba for the atrocities that it has committed to the Cuban people. These and other actions have made Sanders a difficult choice for many moderate Democrat voters.

That is also the reason why many of the moderates in the presidential race have dropped out of the contest to endorse former Vice President Joe Biden, who is seen as the most likely to beat Sanders in getting the nomination, even if he has issues himself.

Hillary and the rest of the Democratic party are expected to step up their attacks on Bernie as the date for the nomination comes closer. She’s sure to have some stronger words against him once the race for the nomination becomes tougher.
