n his recent Twitter post, former Democrat President Barrack Obama boasted that he, and not Donald Trump, was the man responsible for the country’s economic boom.

Obama wrote: “Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history.” The former president also shared a picture of his $787 billion stimulus package, which he claimed was the reason behind the decade-long economic growth, despite being a president for only eight years.

Contrary to Obama’s statement, Breitbart News suggested that although his billion-dollar package might have helped the economy to recover, the economy started to fall during the latter part of his term. “Economic growth had slumped to 1.6 percent by the time he left office,” Breitbart wrote.

Without Trump’s tax cuts and regulatory cuts, the country would be nowhere near the economic growth Americans are currently enjoying, one with record-high stock market gains, decreasing unemployment rates, and a growth expansion that is now the longest in history.

Trump also took to Twitter to debunk Obama’s claim. The president responded, “Did you hear the latest con job? President Obama is now trying to take credit for the Economic Boom taking place under the Trump Administration. He had the WEAKEST recovery since the Great Depression, despite Zero Fed Rate & MASSIVE quantitative easing.”

Trump added, “NOW, best jobs numbers ever. Had to rebuild our military, which was totally depleted. Fed Rate UP, taxes and regulations WAY DOWN. If Dems won in 2016, the USA would be in big economic (Depression?) & military trouble right now.

Finally, Trump slammed Obama as he said, “THE BEST IS YET TO COME. KEEP AMERICA GREAT!”

To back this up, in a report published by the Wall Street Journal, the media outlet asked 68 economists on whose presidential term should be responsible for the massive economic growth. The economists answered that it was “President Trump, and not Obama, who should be taking a bow.”

National Review also highlighted Trump’s economic accomplishment. A recent census revealed that workers’ earnings increased by up to 3.4%. This sudden growth had been unforeseen since president Raegan’s term. Moreover, the country saw an 11.8% decrease in the poverty rate, topping off the record since the end of Clinton’s term. In addition, the unemployment rate is also at its lowest percentage in 50 years.

As the National Review wrote, “Minority groups are the principal beneficiaries of the Trump economy; this isn’t trickle-down, it’s surge-up. Average income for female-led single-parent households jumped 7.6 percent last year, well ahead of gains in higher-income groups.”

The report had also strengthened what Trump had been claiming all along, that his administration had helped people of color and those who belonged to minority communities.

“The surge of minority women getting jobs has helped push the U.S. workforce across a historic threshold. For the first time, most new hires of prime working age (25 to 54) are people of color, according to a Washington Post analysis of data the Labor Department began collecting in the 1970s.”

Under Trump’s administration, the unemployment rates for blacks, Hispanics, and Asians have all hit all-time record lows. In fact, the administration was able to successfully lift 6.2 million Americans off of food stamps. As the Washington Post reported, “Minority hires overtook white hires last year. Women are predominantly driving this trend, which is so powerful that even many women who weren’t thinking about working—because they were in school, caring for kids or at home for other reasons—are being lured into employment.”

Trump supporters also came in to respond to Obama’s post. After a nine-month-long social media hiatus, outspoken conservative actor James Woods tweeted, “The notion that you did anything but destroy this nation’s economy is beyond hilarious. “Those jobs are never coming back. What’s he going to do, wave a magic wand?” Yes, @realDonaldTrump did exactly that. Your only sad legacy was your blatant lies about ObamaCare.”
