As far-left media outlets continue to lobby for objectivity and finding the truth, they also continue to propagate false stereotypes and continue to mock and disrespect Trump supporters.

In a segment from late-night Saturday evening, CNN host Don Lemon accompanied by far-left supporter Wajahat Ali and Republican Rick Wilson, mocked the president’s supporters as “uneducated rednecks who could not even read.”

The segment was a response to reports of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo yelling at a left-winged NPR reporter, Mary Louise Kelly, who lied and broke her promise of an off the record agreement, in which the journalist challenged Pompeo of identifying Ukraine on an unlabeled map.

On the segment, Wilson mocked the president and his supporters “also knows deep within his heart that Donald Trump couldn’t find Ukraine on a map if you had the letter U and a picture of an actual physical crane next to it,” Wilson added “He knows that this is, you know, an administration defined by ignorance of the world. And so that’s partly him playing to the base and playing to their audience. You know, the credulous boomer rube demo that backs Donald Trump.”

As Lemon laughed, Wilson insultingly impersonated what he thinks as a typical “Trumpster.”

“Donald Trump’s the smart one—and y’all elitists are dumb!’” Wilson said in a heavy southern accent, as Ali chimed in “‘You elitists with your geography, and your maps, and your spelling!’”

“Your math and your reading! All those lines on the map!” Wilson said as he kept on depicting Trump supporters as stupid. The clip was shared by former CNN digital producer Steve Krakauer who blasts the trio. “The arrogance, the dismissiveness, the smug cackling, the accents,” Krakauer said. “If Donald Trump wins re-election this year, I’ll remember this brief CNN segment late one Saturday night in January as the perfect encapsulation for why it happened.”

Immediately, the segment received a massive backlash from the panel’s mockery. Even the first daughter was quick to point out. “You consistently make fun of half the country and then complain that it is divided,” Ivanka Trump tweeted. “The arrogance, mocking accents and smug ridicule of this nation’s ‘Real Elites’ is disgusting.”

The administration’s campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh wrote, “This is a real segment from an actual program on a cable news network that asks to be taken seriously. Not subtle message to huge parts of America: THEY HATE YOU.”

GOP rapid response director Steve Guest posted, “The media hardly ever hides their contempt for @realDonaldTrump supporters but this clip is featuring CNN’s @donlemon, The New York Times’ @WajahatAli, and @TheRickWilson is ludicrous. This is one of the most offensive segments I’ve seen in a while.”

Even former CNN Commentator Steve Cortes tweeted, “The smug political class hates the tens of millions of Americans who comprise our movement. They can cackle and grandstand…as we build a country based on sovereignty, economic nationalism, and the diffusion of power.”

“This isn’t disdain or disagreement. What Wajahat, Don, & Rick showed was a disrespect, hatred, & mockery for their fellow man who disagree. I don’t want to hear @JakeTapper, @AndersonCooper, @BrianStelter, @ChrisCuomo, or anyone on @CNN lecture about their higher level of decency,” NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck wrote.

However, the president always has the last word as he tweeted “Don Lemon, the dumbest man on television (with terrible ratings!)” Indeed if the media outlet is trying to reel in the ratings, they have so far succeeded, just with a heavy dose of backlash and condemnation.
