The hashtag “I voted for Hillary Clinton” trended on Twitter on Wednesday, following Iran’s missile attack on a U.S. base in Iraq. People admitted they voted for Hillary Clinton as a way of saying “don’t blame me for the mess in Iran because I didn’t vote for Trump,” but soon an old video of Hillary Clinton resurfaced and began circulating. An old Reuters article with a headline “Clinton says U.S. could totally obliterate Iran” also appeared on Twitter.

The video clip was from an interview on Good Morning America in 2008.

“I want the Iranians to know that if I’m the president, we will attack Iran. In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them,” said Hillary. “That’s a terrible thing to say but those people who run Iran need to understand that because that perhaps will deter them from doing something that would be reckless, foolish and tragic.”

Even Hillary Clinton tweeted the poplar hashtag with a gif of herself.
