Fed Up with Democrats, NJ Congressman Plans on Switching to Republican Side
Current Democratic congressman, Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ), has finally had enough with his party’s impeachment witch hunt and angry, partisan attacks on the President. According to reports, the congressman, who is anti-impeachment is planning on switching party affiliation and becoming a Republican. On Tuesday, President Trump complimented Van Drew on twitter.
Congressman Jeff Van Drew is very popular in our great and very united Republican Party. It was a tribute to him that he was able to win his heavily Republican district as a Democrat. People like that are not easily replaceable!

After Van Drew held a closed-door meeting with the President, seemingly to announce his intentions to switch parties, a number of his staffer abruptly quit their positions working for the congressman, saying they were “deeply saddened and disappointed” by his decision.

Van Drew represents New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District where President Trump received more than 50% of the vote in 2016. In 2018, he narrowly beat Republican Seth Grossman, who made racist comment which lost him the backing of the national Republican party. Van Drew’s seat is one of about 30 vulnerable Democrat seats in states that Trump carried in 2016. These seats are under pressure for their impeachment votes.

But Nancy Pelosi is already losing her majority in the House with Jeff Van Drew leaving the Democrat Party
Maybe when she’s not speaker next year she’ll be able to focus on cleaning up messes like this in her district
