Hallmark Channel Pulls Lesbian Ad, Now the Left Wants to Boycott
An ad for the wedding website Zola was pulled from the Hallmark Channel because it featured two brides kissing at a lesbian wedding. This has drawn outrage from the left who are calling for a boycott of the channel. On Sunday, the hashtag #BoycottHallmarkChannel was trending on twitter.
This is the lovely ad that @HallmarkChannel pulled from their broadcast after conservatives complained. A simple kiss by lesbian newlyweds. Same-sex marriage has been the law of the land for four years. LGBTQ families are beautiful.#BoycottHallmark pic.twitter.com/4UFDiebBVi

The ad was pulled at the request of the conservative organization One Million Moms. The group is a division of the American Family Association and states that its mission is to “stop the exploitation of our children, especially by the entertainment media.” They started a petition urging Hallmark to stop airing the commercial and other LGBTQ content.
In a statement to Fox News, Hallmark said that, “The debate surrounding these commercials on all sides was distracting from the purpose of our network, which is to provide entertainment value.” They pulled 4 of 6 Zola commercials that air on the network.
This decision inflamed the left who attacked the TV channel on twitter. Here is a sampling of what people are saying:
Dear @hallmarkchannel, this is the year 2019. Don't you think we've had enough hatred and bigotry already? Why would you choose to spoil your reputation by giving in to the demands o bigoted idiots?#BoycottHallmarkChannel https://t.co/orMq5YMpre

It's disgusting and pathetic that Hallmark caved to a mob of trad snowflakes and spiked a perfectly innocuous ad. A slap in the face to gay people everywhere. #BoycottHallmarkChannel https://t.co/ziTMn33ja4
One Million Moms wants you to let them know if you find trash in the media so I reported them to themselves. I let them know about a homophobic moms group that’s having ads cancelled because two ladies are kissing. #onemillionhomophobes #BoycottHallmarkChannel pic.twitter.com/Z6mk7w3aKB
