The incredibly crowded Democratic presidential nominee field has lost another participant and is now down to “only” 16 challengers vying to unseat President Trump in the 2020 election. Unknown Montana Governor Steve Bullock announced he is dropping out of the race.

Bullock struggled to raise money and make any dent in the polls throughout the race. He qualified for only one Democratic debate and that was back in July. He is the 3rd governor of a Western U.S. state to drop out of the race following former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee.

Social media reacted with a mixture of mocking and thankfulness that the field is finally starting to get smaller. Some Twitter users mentioned the fact they didn’t even know he was running while others were grateful the fringe candidates are no longer wasting everyone’s time and clearing the way for a real race to begin.
