No stranger to controversy, comedian and actor Sacha Baron Cohen strongly condemned tech giants in a speech to the Anti-Defamation League in New York Coty on Thursday, even using Hitler and the Holocaust as a hypothetical example.

The comedian, known for his characters Ali G and Borat, fiercely railed against the tech industry and their negative effect on society. He most powerfully rebuked Facebook creator and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

He said of Facebook that, “If you pay them, Facebook will run any ‘political’ ad you want, even if it’s a lie. And they’ll even help you micro-target those lies to their users for maximum effect. Under this twisted logic, if Facebook were around in the 1930s, it would have allowed Hitler to post 30-second ads on his solution to the ‘Jewish problem’.”

He also made fun of his appearance saying, “It’s like we’re living in the Roman Empire, and Mark Zuckerberg is Caesar… At least that would explain his haircut.”

It was not just Facebook that bore the brunt of Cohen’s angry speech. He took after all the so-called “Silicon Six”. This is a collective term for the most powerful tech moguls in Silicon Valley ad includes Zuckerberg, Google executives and founder Sundar Pichai, Larry Page, and Sergey Brin, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

He said of them, “The Silicon Six—all billionaires, all Americans—who care more about boosting their share price than about protecting democracy.” Cohen continued, “This is ideological imperialism - six unelected individuals in Silicon Valley imposing their vision on the rest of the world, unaccountable to any government and acting like they’re above the reach of law.”

In addition to the search engine and social media giants, he also took shots at conservative news outlets like Breitbart and Alex Jones. Saying that the fact that social media and YouTube gives these people a platform is one of the biggest parts of the problem with tech.
