Residents in the ultra-liberal NYC suburb of Nyack, NY complained when they saw Halloween pumpkins painted black. Calling the pumpkins “racist” because they “resemble blackface”, the “outraged” PC Police as well as the local NAACP demanded they be taken down at the local law firm that displayed them and out of the store which sold them, Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Bed, Bath & Beyond, terrified of offending anyone regardless of how ridiculous the complaint, immediately apologized and pulled the “racist” pumpkins from their shelves. In a statement the company said the pumpkins would be “immediately removed” from stores and apologized to anyone they offended.

While there was plenty of outrage from the left who could not believe such “racist” holiday decorations could possibly exist, this ridiculous “controversy” was rightly mocked by many who pointed out that black is a very valid and popular Halloween color.
