At CNN’s LGBT town hall, a man got up to ask Elizabeth Warren a question. He was introduced as Morgan Cox, the chair of the Human Rights Campaign board of directors. He asked Warren, “Let’s say you’re on the campaign trail, and a supporter approaches you and says, ‘Senator, I’m old-fashioned, and my faith teaches me that marriage is between one man and one woman.’ What is your response?”

Warren responded with a one-liner answer that drew some of the biggest laughs and cheers of the night. She said, “Then just marry one woman. I’m cool with that. Assuming you could find one.” The elated crowd reaction went on for over 20 seconds.

While Warren has been praised for her “hilarious” and “quick-witted” answer it now seems like there was a bit of a problem. What the moderator did not mention about Cox is that he is also a HUGE Elizabeth Warren donor. He has donated almost $10,000 in the last 2 years to her campaigns. This includes donating the max federal legal limit of $2,700 to Warren’s Senate primary campaign in 2017, $2,700 to her general election campaign in 2018, and $2,700 to the Elizabeth Warren Action Fund PAC.

This certainly seems like more shady dealings from the Democratic party favoring some candidates over others. You may remember that the Democratic party had CNN’s Donna Brazile leak debate questions to the Hillary Clinton campaign ahead of her debates with Bernie Sanders in 2016.
