As a congresswoman, whose time in office has been defined by angrily telling people what they should do with their money, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) apparently does not like it when people do the same to her.

This week, the Washington Examiner wrote an article entitled, “Self-declared socialist AOC splurges on high-dollar hairdo”. The article reported that the “Democratic Socialist” shelled out almost $300 dollars for a cut and color at Last Tangle Salon, a high-end DC hairdresser.

Of course, people are entitled to spend whatever they are comfortable with on any type of product of service in the U.S. but when you are an avowed socialist whose paycheck comes from taxpayer money, this certainly seems hypocritical.

AOC immediately went on the defensive saying that “the right-wing want you to blame Democratic socialism for their own moral failures.” She also made a vain joke about her appearance after her expensive hairstyling saying, “They’re just mad we look good doing it”.

What AOC did with this $300 haircut is very in line with what historically happens under socialist rule where the politicians abuse their power and access to money. The former bartender turned congresswoman seems all too happy to spend taxpayer dollars on a frivolous, incredibly expensive haircut all while telling the American people that they should be giving more of their hard-earned money to the government.
