AOC Takes Aim at Her Own Party for Not Impeaching President Trump
Freshman congresswoman and left-wing mascot Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) turned her ire on her own party this weekend in yet another tweet pushing for Democrats to impeach President Trump. In her tweet, she calls not impeaching Trump a “bigger national scandal” than anything Trump is being accused of doing.
At this point, the bigger national scandal isn’t the president’s lawbreaking behavior - it is the Democratic Party’s refusal to impeach him for it.

This is not the first time AOC has tweeted her dissatisfaction about her party’s reluctance to try and impeach President Trump. In May of this year she tweeted to her 5.4 million followers that not opening impeachment hearings is “just as politicized a maneuver” as voting to impeach.
It is just as politicized a maneuver to not impeach in the face of overwhelming evidence as it is to impeach w/o cause.

Congress swore an oath to uphold the Constitution. That includes impeachment.
We have a duty to preserve our institutions + uphold the rule of law. https://t.co/oqguoDLUVC
Both these tweets are a direct shot at Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. The Speaker who, despite her consistent obstructionist position to the Trump White House, has said that she does not favor impeachment as it would most likely fail and would only help Trump’s reelection campaign. This has created a wedge between the House’s top Democrat and the party’s most outspoken member.
Not to be outdone by a fellow “Squad” member, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) went on CNN recently to talk about herself leading the charge to impeach recently confirmed Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. She has officially filed a resolution with House of Representatives Judiciary Committee to open an impeachment inquiry for the sitting judge.
#ICYMI - I joined @BrookeBCNN to discuss my resolution calling on @HouseJudiciary to open an impeachment inquiry into Brett #Kavanaugh.
