Human Traffickers Trying to Sell 9-Year-Old Mexican Boy For $2500 Arrested in San Antonio
Three people were arrested for their connection to a human trafficking scheme involving a 9-year-old boy from Mexico. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the police tracked down the boy just in time before the child was to be taken to another city.
Elda Moreno, an American citizen living in Mexico, is charged for allegedly using her son’s birth certificate to smuggle the boy into the U.S. The child was brought into the U.S. with Moreno through Eagle Pass, Texas, and then the two took a shuttle to San Antonio. Moreno was asked to meet Mexican citizen Nery Dominquez at Santa Rosa Park to deliver the boy in exchange for $2500. An altercation occurred so Moreno was instructed to take the child to Victor Monsivais at a truck stop instead. Authorities caught 65-year-old Monsivais and the boy in a grocery store parking lot in San Antonio.
