On Thursday, Republican and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp demanded a signature audit following a shocking revelation of election fraud.

Kemp’s announcement came after President Donald Trump’s legal team presented damning video evidence at the Georgia Senate Government Oversight Committee hearing. The evidence proved that an election officer pulled a stash of absentee and military ballots after Republican observers and the press were told to leave the room.

In an interview with Fox News, Kemp claimed that the incident is “concerning.” The Republican Governor stated, “You know, I’ve called early on for a signature audit, obviously the secretary of state, per the laws and the Constitution would have to order that; he has not done that.” Kemp continued to say that something should be done. He added that based on the video that was presented, he would follow up in the next 24 hours to demand a signature audit. Kemp also hoped that the secretary of state might be able to conduct one within the day.

The Governor also slammed attorney Lin Wood. In a press release on Wednesday, Wood discouraged Republican voters from supporting Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue. Wood declared that their effort would remain useless if they would continue to support and vote in a rigged election. He then declared that GOP supporters should not vote until the state can ensure the integrity of the results.

Kemp fought back, saying that if Republicans follow Wood’s advice, they will only give what Democrats wanted. He blasted the attorney’s statement saying that it would only be a “firewall.” Instead, Kemp believed that it is important for the government to assure Georgia voters that their vote will count. Kemp also vowed that he, along with Sens. Loeffler and Purdue, are working hard to ensure the integrity of the results.

The upcoming January 5 election holds a lot at stake, both for the Republican and the Democratic Party, as it will dictate who would win the Senate majority. In a Twitter post, President Donald Trump agreed with Kemp’s suggestion to conduct signature checks to ensure the integrity of the upcoming run-off electrons.

However, there had been increasing strain between Trump and Kemp, following Georgia’s declaration that former Vice-President Joe Biden won the election, as well as their confirmation that the state did not observe any instances of voter fraud. In his interview, the Republican Gov. addressed the President’s previous comments, stating that he “‘ashamed” for endorsing Trump.

On the other hand, the President stood firm on his allegations that election fraud had indeed taken place. In a 45-minute video, Trump claimed that he could not allow Biden to be the next President if his allegations were proven to be true.

Trump also vowed that he is determined to protect the integrity of the elections, especially since it is now under “assault.” The President’s speech came after the Associated Press released a report in which Attorney General Wiliam Barr claimed that they had not received any reports of election fraud.
