On Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced that he is banning government agencies from conducting businesses with companies that promote the “critical race theory” (CRT), a radical left-wing ideology based on Marxist concepts.

In a social media post, the President believed that promoting the concept of “critical race theory” is both “divisive” and “harmful.” The President wrote, “A few weeks ago, I BANNED efforts to indoctrinate government employees with divisive and harmful sex and race-based ideologies.” He added that he had expanded the ban to include “people and companies that do business with our Country.” The President added, “Americans should be taught to take PRIDE in our Great Country, and if you don’t, there’s nothing in it for you!”

The critical race theory believes that racism is a fundamental aspect of American society, noting that even basic human concepts such as hard work and the nuclear family were a result of white supremacy. To block CRT, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Russell Vought, also released a memo to support the President’s corporate ban. Vought explained that the administration wanted to hold private companies responsible for promoting the left-wing ideology. In addition, Vought argued that the United States should be considered as a country of opportunity.

In his memo, Vought reported that a so-called “training” was given to government officials from corporate agencies. The Director believed that this indoctrination would only build division and resentment within the federal workforce. He also dismissed the idea that America is racist by citing that the federal workforce includes people coming from all ethnicities, races, and religions, coming together to provide public service. He concluded that the administration could not allow federal officers to receive training that would destroy American values and promote hatred and division.

To ensure that federal officers would not be involved with the said training and use the taxpayer’s money to pay for it, Vought claimed that the President had given his approval to provide funding to stop the “un-American propaganda sessions.” He also added that they would release a guideline for implementation once everything had been finalized.

For now, Vought reminded government officers to “refrain” from conducting business with private companies that promote the critical race theory. He also instructed respective government agencies to identify all of their contracts or name other offices who are using federal funds for training or propaganda which advocates for either; one, that America is an “evil” and deeply racist country, and two, that such racism and evilness is inherent in the society. He also encouraged officers to cancel contracts from companies that promote “un-American” propaganda.

Earlier, the president had made a previous announcement in which he claimed that the administration had launched a crackdown on government agencies who promote “anti-American propaganda” after he learned that such ideas had been adopted into several federal agencies.

Trump had also taken a step to counteract the New York Times 1619 Project, which aims to educate students that the country is founded not by freedom and equality, but of oppression and slavery. In fact, just last week, the President signed an executive act to promote patriotic education.
