Anarchy Persists Despite Defund The Police Movement, Girl Shot Dead, Homeless Man Burned
As Democrats continued to advocate to defund and dismantle the country’s law enforcement, anarchy continued to thrive in Democrat-led states. To further their own agenda, Democrats blocked a Republican resolution that aimed to provide justice for George Floyd and pushed to restore peace and order across the U.S.
With the ongoing political unrest, people are seeing a rise in violence. For example, in New York City, a homeless man sustained a burn after two teenagers attacked him with fireworks. According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison, the man was sleeping on the sidewalk in front of 67 Lenox Avenue on Sunday morning when a man threw a lit firework on him. It landed and exploded on the 66-year-old’s back, which caused severe burns.

The incident happened after Democrat Mayor Bill De Blasio vowed to cut back a whopping $1 billion in police funding despite the fact that the city saw a surge in shootings. In a report from the New York Post, the rate of shootings has not been seen since 1996. In fact, within the first three weeks of June, the city saw 125 shooting incidents. Within a one week period alone, NYC saw 53 shootings.
Moreover, it’s not just police, but even innocent civilians who are becoming the next target of violence. In North Carolina, a man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly shooting a 7-year-old girl, Aaliyah Norris. In a report from the Forest City Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call of a child being shot. The child was rushed to the hospital after she sustained injuries from a gunshot wound to the head. Unfortunately, the 7-year-old did not survive.
Authorities then arrested 26-year-old Shaquille Marshon Francis on Wednesday, as they charged him with multiple offenses, including assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill. Currently, the suspect is being held at the Rutherford County jail, where he was given a $10 million secured bond.
Despite the increase in violence, far-left politicians such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Nancy Pelosi continued to defund and dismantle the police departments. In a resolution that was introduced by Rep. Greg Steube, the lawmaker called to provide justice for George Floyd, as well as for officers who have suffered as a result of left-wing riots. The resolution also strongly condemns criminal activities such as riots, violence, and looting. In addition, the bill would recognize the “violent opportunists” who use legitimate protests as a way to incite fear and chaos and to ensure that the ongoing violence would not diminish the peaceful protests. Most importantly, the bill would prevent far-left supporters to establish their own “autonomous zone,” such as CHOP and BHAZ. Sadly, the bill was blocked by an overwhelming Democrat support of 231 to 176.
