A disturbing video had recently resurfaced which featured a man allegedly beating a senior at a nursing home in Detroit, Michigan. The footage had gone viral that even US President Donald Trump condemned the attack and prompted the state’s law enforcement officials to have an arrest. However, one person is surprisingly quiet with the whole ordeal- Democrat and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

In a report from The Detroit News, law enforcement officials confirmed the arrest of a 20-year-old man in connection to the assault of a 75-year-old-male in a local nursing home. The incident had reportedly occurred on May 15, in the 16500 blocks of Schaefer. In a press conference, Detroit Police Chief James Craig said that “The nursing home was unaware of the assault until they saw the video. We are still investigating that aspect of the case, but we do have a suspect in custody.”

Even Trump condemned the heinous attack. In a social media post the President asked, “Is this even possible to believe? Can this be for real? Where is this nursing home, how is the victim doing?”

However, one key person remained silent with the issue. Whitmer, who had gained notoriety for her authoritarian regime, refused to provide a statement in connection to the disturbing attack. While she remained blindsided by the violence in her area, the Governor took the time to promote herself on the Comedy Central by getting custom political t-shirts.

Whitmer had also been busy finding new ways to gain publicity, specifically since there had been talks that presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden, is considering her as a potential running mate.

Currently, the Michigan Governor shared the same scandal with fellow Democrat, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who had specifically ordered New York nursing homes to accept coronavirus patients, despite its grave health risks. In an editorial from the Detroit News, the media outlet condemned Whitmer’s decision and demanded the Governor’s reversal, citing that it places vulnerable seniors at risk of contracting the virus. “[Whitmer’s order] put other residents in jeopardy, and may well have contributed to the high death rate in Michigan nursing homes,” The media outlet wrote.

The glaring hypocrisy was laughable, specifically since the state’s Attorney General, Dana Nessel, threatened Trump, claiming that if the President refuses to wear a facial covering in his much-publicized visit at the Ford Motor Plant, he can never return to any “enclosed facility” in Michigan.

As a result, the President refused to wear a mask in an open act of defiance against Michigan’s authoritarian regime. Trump explained that he did not want to give Democrats a sense of satisfaction. “I didn’t want to give the press the pleasure of seeing it,” Trump fired back.
