As the administration tried to overcome the strong bipartisanship in the Senate, Sen. John Kenny claimed that the GOP had to “swallow” to immediately pass the coronavirus economic relief package.

On his appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures,” the senator claimed that Dems headed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have tried to include “all kinds of porn” to the $2 trillion coronavirus economic relief package.

The bill was meant to provide immediate help to American households and businesses. However, the Dems had mischievously placed funding that was not directly related to the coronavirus pandemic, which includes: help for post offices, the allocation for ballot harvestings, support for causes such as Planned parenthood, and even FDA review process sunscreens.

While the GOP had to currently make compromises to pass the much-needed bill, Kennedy believes that the public is smart enough to notice Pelosi’s “spending porn.” It’s why so many Americans think there’s no intelligent life in Washington, D.C.,” the senator said. He continued, “Members of Congress say, ‘Oh, my God. We could run out of ventilators. Oh, my God, people could die quickly. Let’s give money to the Kennedy Center and the post office now.’”

The senator promised that after the crisis have been resolved, they will push “a pox on the house and houses of all those members of Congress who took advantage of this disaster, this tragedy, to take care of their pet projects.” Kennedy also added that the Republicans would dig in to see who was behind the plan aside from the infamous House Speaker.

Kennedy was one of the many Republican lawmakers who have criticized Pelosi and the rest of the Democratic party for using the pandemic as a way to push their own “wish list.”

Indeed, the House Speaker proudly claimed that she had botched Senator McConnell’s initial economic relief package during her Friday appearance on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show.” Pelosi claimed that Senator McConnell’s bill was largely meant to help corporations, and less focused on providing support for workers and families.

Pelosi continued to boast how she was able to expand the provision by pushing Republicans to support causes that were unrelated to employment insurance. As the House Speaker claimed, “The bill was jiu-jitsu. We took the bill and turned it around”. Finally, Pelosi concluded that what the Dems did was to “make sure” that the workers came first.

However, it is still not clear how the FDA screening for sunscreens or additional funding for Planned Parenthood can benefit the blue-collar industry. It remains to be an issue that both the Democratic party and Pelosi have yet to address.
