In his interview with host Sean Hannity, Vice President Mike Pence assured the American public that thousands of coronavirus tests would be made available in the incoming days.

During his media appearance, the vice president explained that last week, some states had to use old manual testing methods in their drive-through centers. The laboratories were unable to provide speedy results as there was a limit to the test, which at that time can only accommodate 40 to 60 people in a week.

Due to the influx of cases, Pence stated that President Donald Trump partnered with the best commercial laboratory in the country to have a more efficient testing. The tests which will be automated will be a major game-changer as it can generate thousands of results in a day. In his statement, Pence declared that the American public would be able to see “tens of thousands” of coronavirus tests within the next few days and weeks.

He also shared that the federal government had been working together with all sectors including retailers such as CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and even Target to open their parking lots as additional drive through areas for coronavirus testing. The administration had also met with top industrial suppliers, including Home Depot and Amazon, to provide the medical supplies that hospitals need.

Finally, Pence reminded everyone that they could be a part of the solution and, ultimately, save thousands of lives. “We need every American, every American business to step forward and recognize that if we act now, we can limit the spread of the coronavirus significantly,” the vice president said, asking Americans to practice “social distancing.”

As pressures keep building up, Democrats have been launching massive anti-Trump campaigns alleging the president of his “incompetence” to handle the ongoing pandemic. In fact, even presidential hopeful “Sleepy Joe” Biden accused the government of rejecting test kits from the World Health Organization (WHO), which had caused the delay.

However, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci, clarified that the delayed testing was out of the president’s control. Fauci stated that the reason was entirely due to the technical glitches. In his appearance on “The Hugh Hewitt” show, Fauci sheds light on the situation, saying that it was “nobody’s fault.”

During his official press briefing, President Donald Trump had also mandated the federal government to provide cash assistance for Americans who have been economically affected by the pandemic. “We want to go big,” Trump said. As of the moment, the president is looking at the fastest way to get the resources to implement it immediately. One that Trump sees as the most viable is providing a payroll tax cut. The president also stated that Congress had been more supportive in finding drastic measures that would help thousands of Americans get the immediate help they need during the pandemic.

Moreover, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin also provided additional details regarding Trump’s proposal and adding that Americans will be able to receive an individual stimulus within the next two weeks.
