President Trump announced on Friday Iran was planning an attack on four American embassies including the U.S. embassy in Baghdad before Qassem Soleimani was killed by a drone strike.

“We will tell you probably it was going to be the embassy in Baghdad,” Trump said in an interview with Laura Ingraham  on Fox News.

“I can reveal that I believe it would’ve been four embassies,” replied President Trump after Ingraham pressed him on what specifically was planned.

Earlier, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told reporters at the White House briefing, “We had specific information on an imminent threat, and those threats from him included attacks on U.S. embassies. Period. Full stop.” Pompeo told CBS News, “We don’t know exactly which day it would have been executed, but it was very clear: Qassem Soleimani himself was plotting a broad, large-scale attack against American interests, and those attacks were imminent.”
