During a press conference held by the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) spoke about dead and injured U.S. soldiers who served in the Iraq War as Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was clearly seen laughing and barely able to contain herself.

“I’m very glad to say that I was part of the 132 and also the vote for Barbara Lee’s amendment, but I think that the point of that is that that is the same war that we’re dealing with today,” said Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee. “We never solved any problems with AUMF, we left 4,000 plus, maybe even 4,400 dead, and over 60,000 who came back injured in some form and the war never ended.”

Rep. Omar could not stop laughing and is seen talking to Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) as Rep. Lee spoke about the dead and injured American soldiers. Notice how all of them appear to be very happy during this somber speech.

Although she was seen smiling from ear to ear and giggling moments before, Rep. Omar took over the mic and claimed that she is stricken with PTSD every time she hears about war.

“And I think every time I hear about—I hear of conversations around war, I find myself being stricken with PTSD. And I find peace knowing that I serve with great advocates for peace and people who have shown courage against war,” said Rep. Omar.

Rep. Jim Banks(R-IN) and Rep. Jody Hice(R-GA) called Rep. Omar out for her lack of respect for American soldiers.

Later, Rep. Omar tweeted, “I lived in a war zone and I’ve seen what conflict does to families and communities. Trump is on the brink of dragging us into an endless war. I need you to stand with me in calling on Congress to stop Trump. Add your name.”

The Mayo Clinic’s definition of PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder is a “mental condition triggered by a terrifying event - either experiencing it or witnessing it.” According to the National Center for PTSD, 11 to 20 percent out of 100 veterans who served in the Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom suffer from it. About 12 out of every 100 Gulf War veterans have PTSD and about 15 out of every 100 Vietnam Veterans were diagnosed with PTSD in the late 80s.

Tell us what you think. Does Rep. Omar look like she’s suffering from PTSD?
