Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) got down to business during the Q&A session with witnesses of Tuesday’s impeachment hearings. Rep. Stefanik focused on the corruption in Ukraine and Hunter Biden’s connection with it all.

After Hunter Biden was discharged from the Navy Reserve for his drug use, Hunter became a member of the board of Burisma Holdings from 2014 to 2019. Hunter earned millions of dollars for his position at Burisma even though he had no experience and very little knowledge of the natural gas industry.

Steve Castor, the lawyer for House Republicans, questioned Vindman about Hunter’s qualifications. Castor, asked, “Are you aware of any specific experience Hunter Biden has in the Ukrainian corporate government world?”

“I don’t know much about Mr. Hunter Biden,” Vindman said.

Castor then reminded Vindman of the closed-door testimony he gave, “We talked a little bit about, at your deposition, about whether Mr. Biden was qualified to serve on this board. And, you know, I believe you acknowledged that apparently he was not, in fact, qualified,” Castor said.

“As far as I can tell, he didn’t seem to be, but like I said, I don’t know his qualifications,” Vindman replied.

Watch:

Rep. Stefanik questioned Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and Jennifer Williams, a foreign policy aide to Vice President Mike Pence, about allegations of corruption against Burisma during the time when former Vice President Joe Biden was chief diplomat to Ukraine.

Rep. Stefanik got both Williams and Vindman to agree Hunter Biden’s position on the Burisma board has the “potential appearance of a conflict of interest.” She also pointed out her constituents have many concerns about Hunter Biden’s position, and how the Obama administration was also concerned about it, yet, “Adam Schiff refused to allow this committee to call Hunter Biden, despite our requests.”

Watch:

Another witness, State Department diplomat George Kent, also testified last week that he was concerned about Hunter’s position on the board of Burisma.

“In February 2015, I raised my concern that Hunter Biden’s status as a board member could create the perception of a conflict of interest,” said Kent.
