House Financial Services Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) received a blistering letter from Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson calling her out for her “basic lack of manners” and “shamelessness.” Carson also pointed out Waters has done little to help the homelessness in her district since she took office in 1991.

Waters penned a letter to President Trump in late October, demanding answers about the administration’s potential plans to relocate homeless people off the streets of California to federally-owned facilities and blaming him for the increase of homelessness.

Waters wrote, ”Your shamelessness knows no bounds. From day one of your presidency, you have attacked our democracy, and now you have set your ire on the 550,000 Americans who on any given night experience homelessness.”

According to POLITICO, Carson hit back at Waters in a letter, “Shamelessness is a career politician of 30 years laying blame.”

“Shamelessness is allowing more than 55,000 Americans to live on the very streets they represent,” continued Carson, referring to the Los Angeles city and county’s homeless population. “To me, the most compassionate, obvious, and logical solution would be to get as many homeless Americans off the streets — with a roof over their heads — as soon as humanly possible.”

“I have sent multiple letters to your office and requested numerous meetings, but each time you’ve refused,” wrote Carson. “Basic manners elude you and it seems that instead of producing results, you’re more interested in producing cheap headlines at the President’s expense — like a true career politician.”

But Waters never gave Carson a chance. She pledged to “take his a— apart,” during a speech to black activists on July 5, 2017.

Essence reported Waters saying, “Ben Carson was appointed to be the HUD secretary. He knows nothing about the mission of HUD. He doesn’t care about people in public housing. He believes that if you are poor, it is your own fault. And he doesn’t know the difference between an immigrant and a slave.”

“And if he thinks when he comes before my committee, where I am the ranking member of the [House Financial Services Committee], that I am going to give him a pass, I am going to take his a— apart,” vowed Waters.

Waters is extremely vocal about her hatred for Trump and his supporters. Last August, the 81-year-old politician encouraged her followers to harass Trump supporters: “Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd, and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”
