While the impeachment hearings have been a frustrating witch hunt for most Republicans, one bright spot has come from it. That is the emergence of congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY). Stefanik has been leading the Republican charge questioning Rep. Adam “Shifty” Schiff (D-CA) about everything from his media quotes on the whistleblower to the way he is running the proceedings. Her tenacity earned a twitter shout out from President Trump himself.

During the questioning of former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, Stefanik destroyed her on many points, especially related to Hunter Biden and Burisma. She got Yovanovitch to admit that the Obama Administration was so worried about possible corruption in that situation they specifically prepped her about it leading up to her confirmation hearings. She followed that up by reading all of Schiff’s comments to the media about how important it was that the whistleblower testify at the impeachment hearings before he reversed course and denied Republicans request to have him testify.

For her efforts in standing up for Republican interests at the impeachment hearings she has earned widespread disrespect and criticism from the left. Rep. Schiff has repeatedly tried to stop her from asking questions. ABC Lead political correspondent Matthew Dow was forced to delete a tweet where he implied the only reason she was elected is because she was a millennial woman. And, one Democrat even went so far as to Photoshop a picture of her giving the middle finger to a camera and posted it on social media.

Stefanik was elected by the 21st congressional district of New York State in 2014. At the time, she was 30 years old which made here the youngest GOP congresswoman ever elected. She is now a third-term representative, being reelected in 2016 and 2018. She is also a member of the House Armed Services Committee.
