Last week, after the election results were in and Chesa Boudin was announced as winner for San Francisco’s District Attorney, a woman stood in the front of a crowd and yelled, “Hey, so I just got one thing to say, which is f-ck the POA! ((Police Officers Association) San Francisco, this is what we get when we throw the f-ck down. This is the city where we elect a public defender to be our district attorney. What we start here, the nation follows. So, look out.”

The woman who used the foul language and extended her middle finger was Sandra Lee Fewer — an elected member of San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Former and current city supervisors joined her on the stage, including Hillary Ronen, Jane Kim, and Matt Haney.

Sandra Fewer claims the POA is a racist organization because they have been critical of Boudin, and they ran an ad campaign against him claiming Boudin’s “reckless policies will cost lives.”

Boudin, whose parents went to prison for the murder of a security guard and two police officers in a Brink robbery, was raised by Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, members of the left-wing group Weather Underground.

Boudin referenced his parents’ past during his campaign and how he experienced the effects of mass incarceration which motivates him to make radical changes in the criminal justice system. Boudin promised to address police misconduct, bail reform, and racial bias. He also pledged not to prosecute people for quality-of-life “crimes such as public camping, offering or soliciting sex, public urination, blocking a sidewalk.” He won’t be taking first offense drunk drivers to trial as long as no injuries were involved, and plans to end gang enhancements — a law that adds more sentencing to defendants who participate in violent street gangs.

Warning: Adult Language

Here’s the letter to Fewer from the police union demanding an apology, along with 16 bars of Dove soap “so she could clean up her language”:

Sandra Fewer offered her “apology” letter, but some people think she should resign.

What’s your opinion, should Sandra Fewer resign?
