More than 1,000 anti-police protesters took to the streets of Brooklyn last night, marching from the Barclay’s Center and marched through the streets of Downtown Brooklyn, blocking traffic and then going down into the subways where many they jumped the turnstiles for a free subway ride.

In the anti-police crowd were many people carrying Antifa signs and wearing Black Lives Matter t-shirts. There were many incredibly offensive signs to law enforcement including ones that said “Ante Up: Punch That Cop”, “Don’t let these pigs touch us”, and “F!ck the police. There were others that said things like “Free transit”, “Poverty is not a crime”, and “Our subways need more $ for elevators, not for cops.” Protesters also graffitied a city bus with “NYPD KKK” and “F!ck NYPD”.

These protests were in response to two recent incidents. One, the NYPD jumped into a fight between two groups of teenagers on the subway and people did not like their use of force to break up the melee. Second, they did not like the fact Mew York just announce they are planning to add 500 new NYPD officers specifically to combat fare-jumpers who take free rides and cost NYC money.

All this comes at a time where President Trump is changing his personal residence from New York City to Florida because of what the city has become. In a series of tweets last week the President said that city was no longer great because of the Democrat leadership of Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo.
