Former Secret Service agent and former NYPD officer Dan Bongino slammed the New York Times for their latest smear piece on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The newspaper published an article claiming Max Stier, a Yale classmate, had witnessed Kavanaugh pulling his pants down while “friends pushed his penis into the hand of a female student” during a “drunken dorm party” in the mid-’80s. But the New York Times failed to include one significant detail: the woman allegedly involved did not have any recollection of the incident.

Bongino told viewers of Fox & Friends, “The New York Times is a disgrace. This is not the paper of record, this is the paper of hot garbage. This is a conspiracy theory blog at this point. Nothing more.” Bongino added, “Either the New York Times is full of colossal morons with the IQ of a rabbit, or secondly, the New York Times is deliberately trying to smear a good man because they are trying to send a message ahead of some Supreme Court case.”

The New York Times later corrected their story. The new edit reads: “The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article.”

Joe Scarborough of MSNBC tweeted, “How did the @nytimes editors fail to include the below info in their article re: Kavanuagh? Would they have done so had @MZHemingway not noted the glaring omission yesterday? It was a stunning decision to leave that central fact out of an article filled with damning accusations.”

The Times article reported that Stier ”notified senators and the F.B.I. about this account, but the F.B.I. did not investigate and Mr. Stier has declined to discuss it publicly.” Apparently, no one believed Stier because the FBI did not pursue his allegation and no senators leaked the story.

Another important bit of information the Times omitted was that Max Stier was part of former President Bill Clinton’s legal team during the scandal involving Paula Jones and Monica Lewinsky, while Kavanaugh worked with independent counsel Ken Starr on the other side. Stier also represented Hillary Clinton in the Whitewater investigation.

President Trump tweeted early Monday morning, “The New York Times walks back report on Kavanaugh assault claim.” @foxandfriends The one who is actually being assaulted is Justice Kavanaugh - Assaulted by lies and Fake News! This is all about the LameStream Media working with their partner, the Dems.
