Grooming gang member Kamir Khan has been imprisoned in Rotherham for abusing an 11-year old girl. Khan is part of a gang made up of men of South Asian heritage who target and abuse children from mostly white working-class families. They have victimized an unknown number of young girls and women for several years. The gang operated with impunity because the local authorities are afraid of being accused of racism.

Khan has been convicted of “two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching, inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity and engaging in sexual communication with a child,” according to reports. Khan sent the girl thousands of messages over a period of one month. He has included lewd photos. It was also revealed that Khan had touched the girl inappropriately in 2019. The mother of the girl only discovered what had happened after she went through her phone and after that, the girl confessed what had been happening to her.

But the judge on the case decided that Khan did not deserve a long sentence. Khan was only sentenced to four and a half years of imprisonment. But the criminals in the United Kingdom rarely serve their full sentence. Khan may end up getting released right away.

“Khan preyed on his victim over a period of months, taking full advantage of her age, and her vulnerability. He manipulated her into thinking he was her boyfriend, and it was normal for him to send her such explicit messages,” said Rachel Scott, Investigating Officer, for South Yorkshire Police.

Grooming gangs have been a problem in the United Kingdom for several years now but officials have been unwilling to deal with it. The gangs are made up mostly of Pakistani immigrants. They prey on young girls and they are counting on the fear of being accused of racism among officials so they can get away with their abuse.

The police in Rotherham knew about the grooming gang in the city but did not do anything for fear of igniting racial tensions. They just allowed thousands of young white girls to be sexually abused by Pakistani immigrants.
