Left-wing media outlet, The New York Times, forecasted that the Republican Party will die if President Donald Trump is defeated in the upcoming general elections.

“Of all the things President Trump has destroyed, the Republican Party is among the most dismaying,” the editorial board wrote. The media outlet went on to cite that the word “destroyed” seems to be an understatement. In fact, the board believed that it is nothing compared to the chaos and destruction that the President had wreaked against his own party.

In addition, the NYT believed that Trump had accelerated the Republican party’s own demise. The media outlet went on to add that it was the President who had exposed what the party truly is, a rotten political organization made up of a “hollowed out shell” that does not have values, ideas, and integrity. Rather, the NYT wrote that the only thing that matters most for the GOP is to stay in power, even if it meant sacrificing democratic ideas.

In addition, the media outlet claimed that the Trump administration only added fuel to the fire of anger and frustration among Republican supporters. While the editorial board failed to cite credible sources, they touted a long list of media materials that would prove how Republicans have become disillusioned with their own political party.

The editorial team forecasted that Trump’s defeat would exacerbate the hatred and frustration among GOP politicians and their supporters. In fact, the left-wing media outlet believed that it would take years for the country and the Republican Party to recover from the damage that was done by the Trump administration. They even suggested that in order to avoid further damage, GOP voters should not add another four more years to the Trump administration if they want to increase their chances of nursing the damaged party and bring it back to health.

The media outlet finished off with a grim suggestion, that if all attempts fail, “Burn it to the ground, and start over.” The scorching and clearly biased editorial was published under the headline “R.I.P., G.O.P.: The Party of Lincoln had a good run. Then came Mr. Trump,” which suggests the political organization’s extinction.

Earlier this month, the media outlet also endorsed Trump’s opponent, former Vice-President and Democratic nominee, Joe Biden. While the editorial board stated that Biden is not a perfect candidate, and will more likely not become the perfect President, the editorial team believed that the fight is between choosing the lesser evil.

In the past months, the NYT came under fire after releasing the widely criticized “1619 Project,” which aimed to spread the propaganda that racism is deeply embedded in American society and history. In fact, the biased project even went as far as claiming that America’s founding fathers were driven not because of the American values of freedom and independence but rather because of slavery.

The Times endorsed Democrat Joe Biden for president earlier this month, arguing: “Mr. Biden isn’t a perfect candidate and he wouldn’t be a perfect president. But politics is not about perfection. It is about the art of the possible and about encouraging America to embrace its better angels.”
