Well-known celebrity left-wing activists Jane Fonda and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had a virtual conversation where they confided in each other how it feels like to be “vilified by presidents.”

“You and I have both experienced being vilified, including by presidents,” Fonda told AOC. “And so, I’m going to ask you a question that I get asked a lot, how do you handle it?” The congresswoman replied that those who are scrutinizing her are just out to exhaust her. So, to her AOC’s mind, she should be exempt from public scrutiny even though she is holding a public office. “Well, you know, it’s not easy,” AOC said. “I think the first thing to communicate, is—the reason that these attacks happen, whether they’re on journalists, whether they’re on progressive politicians, whether they’re on women, people of color, etc., is to exhaust us.” As expected, she made it about sexism and racism.

To AOC, the only reason people criticize policies and her views is that they are racist or sexist against her. Then the rookie politician made a baffling statement in which she claims that those who criticize them come from privileged backgrounds, like from aristocratic families. “It is to wear us down because we don’t necessarily have the traditional institutional resources that a lot of people that were perhaps born into, you know, aristocratic families, have,” said AOC. This statement places doubt as to whether AOC understands what she is talking about. Although she claims to come from a humble background, various sources say that her family is well-off. She actually graduated from Boston University.

On the other hand, Fonda comes from a family of rich Hollywood actors and who have never known hardship all her life. Both of them have no idea as to what ordinary Americans have to deal with. It would be remembered that Fonda was vilified not just by a sitting president but also patriotic Americans after supporting the North Vietnamese during the Vietnam War.
