Failed Democratic candidate Sen. Kamala Harris blasted President Donald Trump as being unfit “to be the President,” citing issues with Russia as well as his incompetence in handling the coronavirus outbreak.

On Wednesday, Harris appeared on left-wing media outlet MSNBC “Deadline.” During the interview, the show’s host, Nicolle Wallace, brought up allegations that Russia is offering bounties for extremist groups in exchange for American troops stationed in Afghanistan. “I want to ask you how Americans should feel about it,” Wallace asked. She also questioned Harris’ opinion on Trump’s statement that the entire allegations were just a “hoax.”

Harris acknowledged that so much had happened within the country. However, she believed that the U.S. must not “lose sight” when it comes to preserving the nation’s relationship among other countries.

With this, she believed that it is important for the “commander-in-chief” to take on a serious role. Harris believes that a good leader should be able to recognize and understand their “adversaries,” but at the same time, knows how to “embrace allies.”

Unfortunately, Harris claimed that instead, the country had Trump, “someone who, unlike Donald Trump, understands the need for relationships.” The senator believed that the president’s stand on foreign policy is based on “isolationism,” which might put the country at risk in terms of national security.

Wallace then asked the senator’s reaction on how the allegations of a Russian bounty will become Trump’s next punchline. Harris’ laughed, saying that the President “got something going on there.” She added that “Let’s just be honest about it. Something’s afoot, right? It just—it doesn’t smell right.”

The host pressed Harris for her opinion on the matter. Wallace claimed that there are deeper issues as to why the administration deliberately chose to hide the reports from the public, citing that the allegations might be “something potentially bad, a lead about Cold War.”

Harris shot back, saying that the country should respond “the same way” that the nation had reacted on hearing the allegations of Russian collusion, or the coronavirus pandemic. The senator blasted that “this man is not fit to be president, and we need a new president. That’s how we’re supposed to feel.” Harris then encouraged the public not to “overanalyze” Trump, and instead direct their efforts in the upcoming 2020 general elections.
