Hollywood stars are now using their fame to lash out against anyone who would refuse to wear a mask. On top of the list is the “Forest Gump” actor, Tom Hanks. During a press conference for his upcoming film, “Greyhound,” Hanks stressed out the importance of wearing a mask.

Earlier this year, Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, tested positive for the COVID-19 virus while they were in Australia. During his media appearance, the actor reminded the public to constantly observe health guidelines such as practicing social distancing, washing hands, and wearing masks or facial coverings.

However, Hanks’ health reminder did not come without obscenity (as characteristic of most Hollywood stars). Speaking to People Magazine, he said that “If anybody cannot find it in themselves to practice those three very basic things – I just think shame on you.” He continued, “Don’t be a p***y, get on with it, do your part. It’s very basic.” He likened the health guidelines to driving a car, saying that it’s just a matter of “common sense.”

When he was asked how he and his wife were able to recover from the virus, Hanks claimed that while they had a really uncomfortable experience, it was by no means “life-threatening.” He recounted that they spent 10 days suffering from the coronavirus symptoms, and had to be isolated. They also have to keep constant temperature checks on each other in case things go wrong, and they would need to seek medical care. Fortunately, Hanks and his wife were able to recover, noting that “we are fine.”

Other celebrities chimed in, including “Terminator” actor and former California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger. In a social media post, the actor responded to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s tweet, saying that people who don’t wear a mask are “absolute moron.” Schwarzenegger responded, “This is 100% the right move.” He believed that “unanimous” studies prove that wearing a mask can help slow down the spread of the virus.

Even Bette Midler joined in the fun. The Hocus Pocus star called out people who refuse to wear a mask as “demented.” She believes that such a practice is not a political decision, but rather an individual choice that people had to make. While the actress condemned people who refused to wear masks, she did not issue a comment on Black Lives Matter activists who continue to gather in large crowds as they chant, scream, celebrate despite the looming threats of another coronavirus outbreak.
