An identified individual who was part of a group that was protesting outside of the New York City Hall said that he wanted to kill police officers on Tuesday. His speech, which was captured on video, showed him giving graphic details on how he would go about murdering cops.

“I want to hang him from a f**king tree like he do us. I want to neutralize them, like they do us,” the man said. “I want to put my foot on his neck, like he do us,” he added. Such display of hatred for the police has become commonplace in the United States in the past few weeks. It all started with the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis while he was being arrested by the police. Because of the incident, the police have been drawing a lot of criticism, and groups like Black Lives (BLM) and Antifa used the opportunity to start several protests in different cities.

Their supposed aim of the protests was to put a stop to police brutality, but they have been used to instigate riots and lootings. The protest in front of New York City Hall has been ongoing for several days, and it is calling for cutting the budget of the New York Police Department by as much as $1 billion and for the department to undergo change to stop police brutality. It is unclear how the police’s defunding can help stop police brutality since less budget means there will be less money for training.

The unidentified protesters who were calling for the murder of the police are voicing a common sentiment among the protestors. They want to do violence against members of the police. Yet the same protesters who are calling for the abolishing of the police demand the police show up and protect whenever something goes wrong. That is what happened in the CHAZ when police moved in.

The only sure thing about these protests is that they demoralized police officers all over the country now.
