On Wednesday, former Vice President and presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden blasted President Donald Trump over his handling of the coronavirus crisis. However, instead of encouraging people to take a call to action, Biden’s delivery was coming off less enthusiastic and more sleepy.

For months, Biden was forced to carry out his campaign in the basement of his family home due to increasing concerns about the coronavirus outbreak. However, as Trump announced that he would resume his iconic MAGA rallies, Biden too came out of hiding. “America needs a president who will put the American people first, not his own ego. America needs a president who will do the work,” Biden claimed. He then went on to suggest that he might just be the leader that America needs, “I’m ready on day one. After more than three years in office, why isn’t Donald Trump ready?”

He then demanded, rather lethargically, “Mr. President … wake up. Get to work. There’s so much more to be done,” as he struggled to stay coherent. Afterward, he awkwardly looked into the media’s members before he walked away without answering any questions.

Biden spoke to several small-business owners at a soul food restaurant in Yeadon, Pennsylvania. Trump’s team responded to Biden’s accusation. In a statement, the president’s campaign spokeswoman Melissa Reed said that voters in Pennsylvania would not go for Biden due to his support for the Green New Deal. Reed claimed that the framework would eventually “destroy” millions of jobs, especially among those who are in the blue-collar sector.

Watch:

While Biden and the rest of the Democratic party continued to slam Trump over the political, economic, and health crisis, GOP supporters pushed back as they called into question Biden’s effectiveness in his 36-years as a US senator.

Fox News host Sean Hannity began his TV program by asking what Biden had accomplished during his more than five decades of government service. “What did he ever do to help improve the lives of you, we, the American people, all Americans?” Hannity asked.

He also questioned what Biden had done to improve the police force during his eight years as a Vice President, citing the police riots that broke out in Missouri and Baltimore. The host continued that instead of resolving such issues, they “fanned the flames” as they rushed into judgment.

The host contrasted the difference between Trump and Biden’s track record. Hannity pointed out that the Trump administration was able to create special tax-free opportunity zones for low-income families. Finally, Hannity concluded that Trump was able to create a better workplace and generate better opportunities for people of color. He also boasted how the country had reached record-low unemployment before the Chinese virus broke out.
