On Saturday, Former Police officer Tom Homan slammed Democrats for instigating increasing anti-police sentiments. During a “We Back Blue” event in Washington DC, Homan called out Democrats such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to “defund your protection first.”

Homan, who spent more than three decades in law enforcement, stood up against the increasing pressure from left-wing activists to defund or dismantle the US police force. The former police officer demanded that politicians should “lead by example” by removing their own security protection first.

The event which took place at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC, was aimed to show community support for the nation’s police officers. During the event. Homan declared that Democratic figures such as “Schumer and Pelosi are not speaking up.” The former police officer stressed that police officers are against racism, just like the rest of the country.

No one’s going to justify that, but they’ll stand out on a moment’s notice and defend people that are in here in the country illegally in violation of the law,” Homan scoffed. He continued to imply the hypocrisy on how Democrats “won’t stand out there and defend the men and women who leave the safety and security of their home every day … to defend their communities.” Homan added that until now, “They haven’t said a word.“

He also challenged far-left politicians such as Ocasio-Cortez to walk the talk. Homan claimed that just like the rest of the community, AOC had to make her own sacrifices too. This entails that she should remove her security protection 24/7. The former law enforcement officer shared his disdain against Democrats for refusing to defend the police force and demanding to “Defund your protection first.”

The officer’s response came after AOC said on Thursday that defunding the police would “look like a suburb.” The progressive lawmaker claimed that affluent white communities already live in a world where they chose to prioritize health and housing more than they do with the police force. She went on to claim that in a perfect world, members of the affluent suburbs were able to design their lives without being interrupted by the police.

The problem is that the movement had already cost more lives and put countless businesses at stake. On Thursday, Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best challenged Democrat Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan for siding with the protesters. Just last week, the mayor allowed the rioters to take hold of the city’s Capitol Hill, as well as the 3rd precinct, and establish six blocks known as “CHAZ” (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone). Best claimed that violent crimes such as rapes and robberies had already taken place in the city’s “autonomous zone.” She also responded that leaving the city’s precinct was not her decision and that they had spent days protecting it.

“Day in and day out, to be pelted with projectiles, to be screamed at, threatened and in some cases hurt,” Best hurled back at the Democrat for insulting their efforts to protect the city, as Durkan sided with the protesters after nearly two weeks of violent exchange.
