Joe Biden attempted to assign a nickname to his presidential competition President Donald Trump after months of being called “Sleepy Joe” by the President and his allies. But the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee’s attempt failed miserably and earned him lots of mockery on social media.

In an interview on Monday, Biden called out the President for his tweeting, saying, “I call him President tweety. Reopen the country? How are we supposed to do that if you’re sitting on the money small businesses need? Stop tweeting about it. Get the money out to Main Street.”

Indeed, President Trump is known for his “voracious tweeting habits” during the day and even the night. But social media pundits were quick to counter Biden’s bad attempt at putting a label on the President. It turns out that calling Trump “President Tweety” is nowhere near Trump’s skills and wit when he comes up with nicknames against his rivals.

Former Fox News journalist Megyn Kelly tweeted that “People not named Trump should really stop playing the nickname game. No one seems very good at it and it’s embarrassing.”

One user also called Biden’s nickname attempt embarrassing, saying that despite having an entire team helping him, the best nickname he could come up with was just “President Tweety.”

Another wrote that it was “barely insulting.”

Even Biden himself admitted that President Trump is “a master at laying nicknames on people.” Trump has used the “Sleepy Joe” nickname to refer to the Democratic candidate throughout the 2020 election cycle, and his allies and even media sites got to use it. However, despite how corny and truly embarrassing Biden’s “President Tweety” attempt was, some of his supporters still backed him up and used the nickname to try and bring down the President on Twitter.
