Leftist actress and critic of President Trump Rosanna Arquette tweeted the hashtag #TrumpGenocide on Saturday, as a continuation of her criticism of the president and his response to the pandemic caused by the coronavirus. The #TrumpGenocide hashtag went trending on Saturday but was mostly promoted by unverified accounts. Arquette was one of the few well-known personalities who actually promoted the hashtag. The hashtag went viral in the middle of a crisis where the government showed strong actions to fight the disease.

Arquette has been a very vocal critic of Trump, and she has directly blamed the president for the deaths of Americans because of the virus. She also took to Twitter when the United States surpassed China in the number of confirmed cases of the virus.

The old actress did not offer any comment regarding the hashtag, but it follows the same line of her blaming Trump for all the death that has been happening. Another prominent individual who promoted the hashtag is Jon Cooper, who served as the Barack Obama Campaign Chair. He said that a whole month was lost in preparing for the pandemic and that the richest country in the world failed to prepare for the disease.

All of these criticisms are being made while President Trump is taking unprecedented actions and is utilizing all the resources of the government to fight the disease. In January of this year, President Trump banned travelers who have set foot on China from entering the United States. Back then, he was criticized for the move and was accused of being racist. Some said that the travel ban would only cause more problems as it restricts the ability to fight the disease. Now he is being accused of not doing enough to protect the country.

Despite all of the criticisms being hurled against the administration, steps are being taken to protect Americans from the disease. The CDC has issued a travel advisory for the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut areas, which so far has been the hardest hit. Resources are being poured in from all over the country to help fight the disease. The 1000-bed hospital ship USNS Comfort was dispatched to New York City to help ease the pressure on its healthcare system, which is being overwhelmed.
