During her appearance on far-left media outlet MSNBC, Rep. Maxine Waters accused President Donald Trump of being a liar and even blamed him for the failed coronavirus response.

Waters began her statement by saying that Trump fiddled with the coronavirus pandemic. She claimed that the real problem was that the country responded too late to stop the looming threat of the virus.

Then, she went on to blame Trump for closing down and failing to fund Obama’s pandemic affairs office. Waters believed that the president’s decision to close down the said office made the country unprepared. She said that if it had been open, the office would have been responsible for anticipating the necessary actions and supplies needed during the time of a global catastrophe.

Moreover, Waters also chimed along with other Democrats such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, who all claimed that Trump had ignored the earlier notifications and about the virus. “I know that the president has gotten away with a lot of lying about,” Waters claimed. The lawmaker had even brought up and dragged along the Defense act, which she claimed that the president had promised to invoke, but failed to do so until the “heat” was on him. She also said that Trump had lied about partnering with some “big businesses,” which the president “did not have.”

This is not the first time that Waters made such allegations against Trump. Earlier, the lawmaker had also accused him of being a “liar” and deemed the president as being untrustworthy. In an ambush interview, she told reporters that it had been proven over and over again that “you cannot trust this president.” She had also added that Trump did not believe in science and was a “liar.”

As if it was not enough, Waters added another insult claiming that Trump was not reliable and that he better “shut his mouth.” Finally, she concluded that the commander in chief should remain quiet and let the CDC, and NIH deal with the entire pandemic.

Trump fired back against accusations of his incompetence to handle the coronavirus crisis. In his newly released re-election campaign video, the president focused on the massive support and approval he had received over his fight to contain the deadly pandemic.

In the said video, the president took the opportunity to praise the “true greatness of the American character.” In a moment of unity that has remained unprecedented, Trump claimed that people from all walks of life came together to “defeat the unseen enemy.”

The footage also contained clips of various Americans from politicians to experts praising Trump and his massive efforts to fight and contain the Chinese virus. Most of all, the video’s message did not solely focus on the president, but as well as using the opportunity to credit Americans for their contribution to stopping the pandemic.

To back this up, Trump’s approval rating had been up and set the record as his highest rating so far. In fact, in a Gallup survey, 60% of American adults approve Trump’s response. While Fox News Polls also cited a 51% approval rating for the current administration.
