House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) released new “evidence” for the impeachment trial. The “evidence” is undated handwritten notes written by Lev Parnas, a Ukrainian South Florida businessman, who is facing an indictment by the Southern District of New York that accuses Parnas of funneling foreign money into U.S. election including a pro-Trump super PAC. He is currently out on bail.

The “evidence” includes a letter from Giuliani to Ukrainian President Zelensky requesting a meeting to discuss Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden. Parnas handed over pages of records with details of his and Giuliani’s alleged attempts to pressure Ukrainian officials to investigate the Biden family.

“President Trump knew exactly what he was doing,” said Parnas in an interview with MSNBC Rachel Maddox. He also claimed Vice President Mike Pence knew, and Attorney General William Barr was also “on the team.”

Parnas doesn’t have much credibility because of his checkered past. He ran a penny-stock scam called Edgetech International that distributed Edge, which his company claimed to the fastest hand held internet device.

One of the lawsuits filed against Parnas was by a New Jersey family who is trying to recover $678,000 from Parnas for a movie loan he hasn’t paid back. According to court records, film producer and writer Rudy Durand testified for the family, stating, “at one time he liked and trusted Lev, but he later found him to be a con artist.”

Parnas was accused of fraud in 2011, and 2013, he co-founded the company Fraud Guarantee. The Wall Street Journal published an article about Parnas and Fraud Guarantee, explaining the reason Parnas picked the name was partly to clean up Google search results. Parnas and “fraud” were paired together in search results, but in a “postive light” because of the name of his company and pushed negative search results to the bottom.

When asked about Parnas and the new “evidence,” White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham told reporters, “This is a man who is under indictment and who’s actually out on bail. This is a man who owns a company called ‘Fraud Inc.,’ so we’re not too concerned about it.”

Parnas admitted to CNN’s Anderson Cooper that when his home was raided by the FBI, his “wife felt embarassed” because of the shrine of Trump photos all over his house. Parnas chuckled when he confessed he “idolized” Trump and thought he was a “savior.”

“I went from being a top donor, from being at all the events where we would just socialize, to becoming a close friend of Rudy Giuliani’s, to eventually becoming his ally and his asset on the ground in Ukraine,” said Parnas told Anderson Cooper.

Giuliani warned the Washington Post, “Believe him at your peril.” He added, “We all make mistakes. I feel sorry for him and his family.”

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour the news about Parnas was reported by all Ukrainian media, and stated, “Strangely enough my name was not mentioned although I am Minister of Foreign Affairs. And frankly, I never spoke with this individual. And again frankly I don’t trust any word again he’s now saying.”

Watch:

Last September, Parnas told the Miami Herald Ukraine officials had access to information on Joe Biden and his son’s alleged wrongdoing, but the U.S. government didn’t seem to have much interest in it. He felt it was his duty to hand over the information he had, and called the impeachment against President Trump a “soap opera.”
