When Hollywood director Ron Howard denounced President Trump on Twitter, calling him “dishonest, morally bankrupt ego manic,” he got an unexpected response from the father of one of the 17 victims of the Parkland high school shooting massacre, Andrew Pollack.

After listing some positives about the president, Pollack asked Howard what he was going to do when Trump is reelected later this year.

On New Year’s Day, 65-year-old Howard tweeted, “In the entertainment industry many who have known/worked w/ Trump think that while his reality show was fun and ran a long time, he’s a self-serving, dishonest, morally bankrupt ego maniac who doesn’t care about anything or anyone but his Fame & bank account & is hustling the US.”

Pollack responded by writing, “Let’s see here Ron…

President Trump gave up his billion dollar lifestyle to save this country.

President Trump donates his ENTIRE salary.

President Trump was loved by Hollywood before he became a Republican.

What are you going to do when he wins again in 2020?”

Later, Howard defended the entertainment industry after a Twitter user accused Hollywood of being “amoral elitists who hate average Americans.”

A few Twitter users posted photos of Ron Howard hanging out with disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein. A photo of Howard and Trump sitting in a golf cart was also tweeted.

Pollack said during an interview with Fox & Friends he met with Trump on five different occasions since the 2018 Parkland shooting and praised Trump’s initiation of a federal school safety commission. Pollack blamed Democratic policies for the murder of his daughter, Meadow Pollack, in his book, “Why Meadow Died: The People and Policies That Created The Parkland Shooter and Endanger America’s Students.” He argued that banning guns is not the solution and encouraged people to look for the “underlying causes for these shootings” such as mental illness.
