In the latest development in the investigation into whether pedophile Jeffery Epstein’s death was suicide, as New York City Department of Corrections claims, or murder, the two prison guards responsible for watching Epstein on the night of his death have been arrested.

The two guards were arrested early Tuesday morning and are expected to be charged in a Manhattan court later today. The guards did not check on Epstein for hours but falsified logs saying that they had. This is what the suspected charges are believed to be related to. The officers were placed on administrative leave during the FBI and Justice Department investigation into Epstein’s death. Both guards had been working overtime due to staffing shortages.

Epstein had been taken off suicide watch shortly before his death which meant he was not under constant surveillance. However, it was still standard procedure to check on him every 30 minutes. While the NYC Medical Examiner ruled the death a suicide, other forensic experts have questioned the ruling siting bone breaks and marks much more consistent with strangulation.

The reason Epstein’s death is being questioned so seriously is that, among his crimes, he sex trafficked a number of underage children to the rich and powerful. Accusations include him facilitating illegal, underage sex for people like Bill Clinton and the British Royal Family’s Prince Andrew. The latter of whom recently went to British TV to unconvincingly deny the allegations.
