Democrats in Westchester County, NY are pushing for Chelsea Clinton to follow in her parent’s footsteps and continue the Clinton political dynasty. Longtime Democratic Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY) is retiring from the House of Representatives, at the age of 82, after 31-years in office. The district she represents includes Chappaqua, NY. This is the town that the Arkansas Clintons’ moved to so Hillary could run for Senate in 2001.

The daughter of the former President and the failed Presidential candidate has stayed relatively quiet on her political ambitions. However, it has been rumored for a long time now that she has been groomed to take over this seat when it became available.

The 39-year-old former first daughter currently lives in New York City, which is not part of the 17th district. Westchester Democrats do not have a problem with this since her parents have a residence in the area. The Clinton’s have also never let geography or legal requirements stand in their way of pursuing office.
