Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Claims Of People “Drinking Out Of Toilets” Are Now Disintegrating
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez toured the detainment centers in El Paso, Texas, on Monday. She claimed that the women were told to “drink out of toilets.” But recently, a photo emerged of a basic detention center toilet unit that shows a toilet unit attached to a sink and another toilet that is separated by a tiled wall. The attached sink and toilet unit is marked as “potable water.”
David Martosko of Daily Mail asked Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez directly about the toilet in the detention center on Twitter.
I haven't seen photo of the Clint, TX facilities that @AOC described today, but it would be interesting if "drinking from the toilet" meant drinking from an attached sink marked "potable water" -- like this image from a CBP holding facility in Tuscon (filed in federal court). pic.twitter.com/uDbhy1GPOa

Just left the 1st CBP facility.

I see why CBP officers were being so physically &sexually threatening towards me.
Officers were keeping women in cells w/ no water & had told them to drink out of the toilets.
This was them on their GOOD behavior in front of members of Congress.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also claimed, “Now I’ve seen the inside of these facilities. It’s not just the kids. It’s everyone. People drinking out of toilets, officers laughing in front of members Congress. I brought it up to their superiors. They said “officers are under stress & act out sometimes.” No accountability.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez confirmed that it was the same type of toilet and sink that was inside the cells that she visited in El Paso, Texas. The congresswoman tweeted, “This was in fact the type of toilet we saw in the cell. Except there was just one, and the sink portion was not functioning - @AyannaPressley smartly tried to open the faucet, and nothing came out. So the women were told they could drink out of the bowl.”

But when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was questioned about whether she actually witnessed it, she rolled up her window.
Ocasio-Cortez on her CBP facility tour: “These women were being told by CBP officers to drink out of the toilet. They were drinking water out of the toilet”

Reporter: “Did you see somebody actually do that?”

Martosko called out Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex saying, “Your tweets suggested you personally heard the guard tell them this today, but Rep. Chu said one of the women told you that story. Some reports suggest they were moved inside just today from outdoor tents, so it’s unclear how long they’d been in that cell. What did you witness?”
One tweet: "Officers were keeping women in cells w/ no water & had told them to drink out of the toilets. This was them on their GOOD behavior in front of members of Congress." That suggests you heard agents telling women to drink out of toilets. Did that happen? Horrible if so.

A Freedom of Information Act was submitted by the Washington Examiner requesting a video from Customs and Border Patrol of the events that took place during Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s visit.
The congresswoman’s recollection of the events that occurred in the El Paso detention center was different from her social media posts.
A border patrol agent reported, “So this is what happened with the migrant and drinking water from toilet: she wanted water, didn’t know how to use the faucet in the cell, and drank from the toilet. She never told AOC that we made her drink from the toilet. AOC, of course, changed it. This was when she [the migrant] was apprehended and brought into the facility.”
One witness described Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s actions on Monday, “She comes out screaming at our agents, right at the beginning [of the tour] … Crying and screaming and yelling.”
The same person recounted, “The agents, they wanted to respond, but they held back because she’s a congressional delegate. But when you have someone yelling at you in a threatening manner. They were like, ‘Hey, you need to kinda step back.’”
A second official reported that while Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez remarked about an unofficial secret Border Patrol Facebook page: “Something under her breath, ‘Oh, all these guys in here are gonna f–k me.’ The agents are standing there behind the computers. One of the agents laughed at something he was saying to another agent, and she got irate and flipped out. Now they’re under investigation for it. She took it as they were laughing at her and screams at them and says, ‘What’s so funny?’”
We are wondering what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will come up with next. What are your thoughts about the NY congresswoman?
