An elementary school principal in Pennsylvania filed a lawsuit against her school district for losing her job over a single political meme.

Amy Sacks, who was working as a principal of Evergreen Elementary School was fired after sharing a conservative meme on Facebook. In her post, Sacks said that she would rather choose a potato than vote for former Vice President Joe Biden.

Sacks was a veteran educator with over 20 years of teaching experience. Unfortunately, she lost her job in July after a concerned parent reported her post, noting that it was offensive. In response, Sacks filed a lawsuit against the Perkiomen Valley School District. According to the reports from the DailyMail, the principal posted on Thanksgiving day to address the issue that she is no longer a school principal.

She then blasted the school district superintendent, Barbara Russell. Sacks said that Russell, “decided that the First Amendment Freedom of Speech has no place in public schools.” The former Elementary school principal continued by saying that she was terminated because the district superintendent believed that educators who share right-wing political beliefs are “unfit” to serve.

“I was terminated because I expressed right of center political views – PRIVATELY,” Sacks said. She argued that she was fired on the sole basis of a political meme. In fact, Sacks claimed that with her years of teaching experience, she had never done anything that is considered as “unacceptable.”

The former principal also stood against the “cancel culture” that terrorized Republican supporters. Sacks claimed that despite being a principal of one of the best performing schools in the state, it doesn’t stop her from being a victim of the cancel culture. She also expressed the hypocrisy of left-being supporters, who simply dismiss people based on their speech or political affiliation, without any regard for the “diversity of thought.”

Even the Daily Mail noted that the school principal was “mysteriously”’ sacked without even giving her a proper explanation. Sadly, the school superintendent simply claimed that her post was “offensive,” “unprofessional,” and even downright “unacceptable.” Russel even noted that her post is even considered racist.

Sacks hoped that her decision to stand against the school district will inspire others to fight back against cancel culture and those who attempt to take away their constitutional right. In addition, the former school principal seeks to have $500,000 in damages after the “emotional turmoil” that the school district had put her through.

Moreover, Sack’s legal counsel also stood by her, saying that the former principal was denied her right to counsel. Instead, Sacks was threatened that they would ruin her career if she ever attempted to contest their decision. Her legal representative also noted that Russel’s actions were “illegal” since her statements were posted on her own private Facebook account.

Across the country, several members of the education system, including students themselves were criticized for showing their support to President Donald Trump and the Republican party.
