President Trump has again expressed his willingness to get the coronavirus vaccine on camera. An administration official has clarified that he may have to wait since the President has actually recovered from Covid-19. “I think there is something that’s up for discussion as to whether someone who’s recovered from COVID and has antibodies would necessarily be a high priority for receiving the vaccine and for the purposes of vaccine confidence,” the official said.

Back in July, the President told Fox News that he was ready to take the vaccine first to inspire confidence in it. He just wanted to make sure that his actions will be sending the right message to the public. “I would absolutely if they wanted me to, if they thought it was right, I’d take it first, or I’d take it last,” he made the statement before he contracted the virus himself in August.

The President’s concern about sending out the right message is quite valid. He is aware that if he is the first one to get the vaccine then his critics will call him selfish. If he does not volunteer to get it first then others will say that he is willing to risk the lives of other people.

The official has also confirmed that there are other influencers who have volunteered to take the vaccine to reassure the public. “There are other sort of famous, shall we say, vaccine influencers and experts who I think have come forward and volunteered to participate in an effort to help instill public confidence, and we’re certainly considering such offers,” the official said.

Obama claimed that he is willing to take the vaccine but only if Dr. Fauci tells him it’s safe. “I may end up taking it on TV or having it filmed. Just so that people know that I trust this science, and what I don’t trust is getting COVID,” he said.

Other Democrats have expressed their willingness to take the vaccine as well so they can grandstand and be relevant again.
