A Los Angeles bar owner criticized Los Angeles Mayor Garcetti and California governor Newsom for giving special treatment to the film industry while ignoring the plight of restaurants, bars, and other small businesses. In a video posted on social media and has gone on to become viral, Angela Marsden, the owner of Pineapple Hill Saloon & Grill, showed tents for outdoor dining for a TV production crew set up near her place of business.

Marsden is upset because her restaurant/bar is struggling to stay afloat during the pandemic like thousands of other small businesses. The lockdown rules that have been implemented only make things worse for them, yet it seems that mayor Garcetti governor Newsom is giving special treatment to the film industry.

“I’m losing everything. Everything I own is being taken away from me. And they set up a movie company right next to my outdoor patio. And people wonder why I’m protesting and why I have had enough,” Marsden said in the video.

“They have not given us money, and they shut us down. We cannot survive. My staff cannot survive. Look at this! Tell me that this is dangerous,” Marsden said as she pointed to her outdoor dining area, “but right next to me, as a slap in my face,” she then pointed to the dining area set up for the production staff. “That’s safe, 50 feet away. But this is dangerous.”

The lockdowns and the restrictions being imposed by Democrat officials on their residents have been devastating the economy. The new lockdowns being imposed in California will ban outdoor dining for most of the state. That may put even more establishments out of business as many of them are already struggling now.

The TV and film production industry has been exempted by Newsom from the draconian rules. The productions of TV shows and films that are funded by giant entertainment companies are deemed to be more important than the small businesses.
